OpenElec is a tiny linux distribution including the famous Kodi mediacenter (formerly known as XMBC).
The software is mainly written in C, C++ and Python.
We use our own OpenElec fork on AmLogic based settopboxes as part of our IPTV solution (which is currently already deployed at several student apartments).
Our IPTV solutions works with 1080p / 1080i HD H264 RTMP streams with a variable bitrate of 10 ~ 16Mbit, so the developer should have an good performing internet connection of at least 20Mbit with good performance to the Netherlands.
The following experiences are an advantage:
– familiarity with AmLogic based hardware
– MPEG-Dash streaming / transcoding knowledge
– FFMPEG ‘core’ knowledge (not ‘knowing how to use’ but ‘ffmpeg debugging’)
– Nginx RTMP knowledge
– TSDecrypt knowledge
– familiarity with the XMLTV format
– familiarity with the M3U format
The current main developer of this product will change its focus from developing to code reviewing and quality control!
We’ll define small jobs for specific modules / improvements for which we would like to receive a fixed-price quote.
We’ll supply the developers with the required AmLogic hardware for the development / testing purposes.
Because of the short time span we are not looking for (experienced) C++ developers without Kodi / OpenElec specific knowledge.
